What is a Double Chin?
Submental fullness, otherwise known as a Double Chin, is a common concern that can be treated with Kybella®. Until recently the only treatment for this was surgical reduction of fat, or liposuction involving a longer recovery. Kybella is a non-surgical treatment injectable that can be injected into the fat cells with no downtime or recovery.
What is Kybella®?
Kybella is a non–surgical, permanent fat reduction treatment with minimal down time. It contains deoxycholic acid, a naturally found substance in the body that can be used to break down dietary fat. A synthetic version of this acid is injected under your chin in the submental fat to dissolve the outer membranes of the fat cells, thereby liquefying them, so they can be drained away by your lymphatic system. Over a period of 4 to 6 weeks the fat cells under the chin will melt away revealing a more contoured jawline and a more youthful appearance without having to go under the knife.
Am I a Candidate ?
Whether or not you are a candidate for Kybella can be discussed and determined doing your consultation with our nurse practitioner or nurse specialist. Most patients with submental fat, also known as double chin, are good candidates for Kybella injections.
